Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practise (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: The following was observed inside:
-a small couch in the large playroom appears to be in disrepair and in need of cleaning
-the wall in the hallway across from the washroom appears to be dirty and the baseboard is missing making it difficult to clean and sanitize.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all areas of the facility are in good repair.
Date to be Corrected: Please provide a written plan by November 21, 2022 how the above areas will be addressed.


Comments

At the inspection dated November 16, 2022, there were 5 children, 2 staff and 1 student present. At this inspection, the above contravention was identified. As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
