Follow up inspection to determine status of repair work to sanitary sewer work in kitchen area. EHO has learned proposed catering facility was not involved in meal preparation or service at the facility. EHO purpose for inspection today was to: 1) determine scope of work 2) determine if work is completed 3) determine how food was prepared and served to residents

Upon arrival EHO did observe plumbing in external hallway to be repaired and dishwasher unit has no longer a garbage can underneath pumping dirty water across hallway into washroom unit. EHO did receive confirmation that repairs are completed with the exception of two holes in wall to be fully repaired in kitchen unit.

EHO discussed with Management food production during work. EHO was unaware food was being produced in kitchen and understood meals to be prepared offsite and served in dining room. Going forward ensure any planning is completed well in advance so that FHA has time to review scope of work. No food production is to occur in areas of sanitary sewer work - FHA will want to confirm scope of work to ensure health and safety aspects are considered and potential sources of contamination are eliminated.
