Report of Findings
On March 14, 2022, Licensing received a complaint alleging concerns regarding physical facility and care and supervision.
The concerns included the following details:

- a person in care (PIC) had access to a room containing hazardous materials and sustained a fall
- when the PIC returned from hospital, they were moved into a bedroom that did not meet all of their needs
- hazardous areas continued to be left unsecured and accessible to PICs

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence from the Licensee was received and reviewed.
The following contraventions were determined:
RCR s. 52 (1)(a)(iii) - Harmful actions not permitted
RCR s. 77 (2)(c) - Reportable incidents
RCR s. 91 (2)(c) - Currency and availability of records

34120 - RCR s.52(1)(a)A licensee must ensure that a person in care is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, subjected to (a) financial abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse or neglect as those terms are defined in section 1 of Schedule D.
Observation: Staff did not ensure that a person in care (PIC) could not enter a potentially unsafe area of the facility, and as a result, the PIC was found on a floor and sent to the hospital with a serious injury.
