Report of Findings
Community Care Facility Licensing received a complaint on May 15, 2023 regarding Care and Supervision, and reporting.

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained and reviewed through interviews, on-site inspection, and a review of documentation.
 
Licensing confirmed that a person in care’s representative was not immediately notified of an injury.
 
A contravention to section 76(1) of the Residential Care Regulation (Notification of illness or injury) was determined.

39060 - RCR s.76(1)If a person in care becomes ill or is injured while under the care or supervision of a licensee, the licensee must immediately notify the parent or representative, or contact person, of the person in care.
Observation: Licensing was not able to confirm the date that staff notified the representative of the person in care's injury. However, the facility leadership acknowledged that the representative was not notified in a timely manner.
Corrective action: If a person in care becomes ill or injured, please ensure that the representative or contact person is immediately notified.
