Introduction

Routine Inspection Report

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (C.C.A.L.A.), the Residential Care Regulation (R.C.R.), and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (D.L.S.P.). Evidence for this report was based on the licensing officer's observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:

- Licensing
- Physical Facility
- Staffing
- Policies and Procedures
- Care and Supervision
- Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
- Medication
- Nutrition
- Programs
- Records and Reporting

As part of this routine inspection a facility risk assessment tool is completed. The risk assessment includes contraventions identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year historical review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Comments:

- Staff files were not able to be reviewed during this inspection, however, the Director of Care explained the process regarding staff evaluations. It was confirmed that staff evaluations are up to date. Please note: staff files will be reviewed at a follow-up inspection when the staff member who has access to the files is available.
- Recreation care plans were reviewed as part of this inspection. The Recreation Manager was not on-site to further discuss the recreation care plans for the Licensed premise. A follow-up inspection will be scheduled with the Recreation manager to further review the care planning process.

All areas were found to be in compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and/or the Residential Care Regulations.

This report was reviewed and discussed with the Director of Care.
