Observation: Barbicide was being used to disinfect semi-critical items (ie. nail clippers, nippers, pushers).
Corrective Action(s): - Immediately stop using the barbicide. Barbicide is a low level disinfectant.
- Obtain 7% accelerated hydrogen peroxide concentrate to disinfect semi-critical items (ie. nail clippers, nippers, pushers).
- All semi critical items must be re-disinfected.

Comments

Services Provided: hair, manicure
- General sanitation is good.
- Handwashing station inside the washroom supplied with hot/cold running water, soap, single use paper towels.
- Towels laundered on site. Onsite washer/dryer.
- Designated laundry basket (clean, dirty) available.

Hair:
- Barbicide solution available in disinfecting jars at two stations. Combs are fully submerged. The operator follows the dilution instructions on the barbicide bottle and concentration measured at >3200ppm.
- 70% or 99% isopropyl alcohol used to disinfect clippers/scissors.
- Three shampoo chairs connected to the drain.

Manicure:
- Manicure station placed beside the front entrance.
- Barbicide being used to disinfect semi critical items.
- Single use toe separators, nail buffers, files.
