Comments

Recreation Care Plans:
- In discussion with the Recreation Manager/Coordinator there is a system to review the recreation care plans. For example there is the care conference list of persons in care and a few are completed at a time. Currently 30 persons in care have had their recreational care plans reviewed.
Volunteer files:
- Tuberculosis assessment is completed as noted in the Community Care Facilities Licensing Tuberculosis and Immunization Guideline.
- Immunizations are also collected. Please ensure immunizations are thoroughly documented for all volunteers.
Food Services Manager position:
- A staff has completed their education and this was verified at the time of the inspection. This same staff has now applied for the Canadian Society Nutrition Management. Please forward a copy of the Canadian Society Nutrition Management once received.
Other items:
- The facility management is in the process of looking at proposed upgrades to the building in terms of elopement prevention by persons in care. Please keep your Licensing Officer up to date regarding the proposed changes and a health and safety plan may need to be submitted based on the proposed work (The Licensing Officer previously e-mailed to the facility management the health & safety considerations document to guide the facility in developing their own health & safety plan. If the Municipality/City needs to be involved, then all of their requirements must be met as well). If a health and safety plan is required, it will need to be submitted to the Licensing Officer for review and approval.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the findings were reviewed and discussed with the Director of Care at the time of the inspection. This inspection report was written off-site and then emailed on August 18, 2022 to the Manager and Director of Care for review and to finalize the report once they were in agreement to the wording. As a result of the pandemic, signature for the Director of Care is not included. If there are further questions related to this inspection, please contact your Licensing Officer.
