Introduction
An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
MEDICATION: 16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation: One child enrolled in the program has medication noted in their registration forms. The details of when (symptoms) and how to administer the medication was not available in either a medication permission form or care plan at the time of the inspection. The LO reviewed this with the staff working in the program at the time.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure medication prescribed has documented details of regarding the symptoms, times and dosage of use.

On the inspection date of February 18, 2025 there were 3 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee include a corrective action plan required to be submitted and actions required the LO include to review and monitor corrective action plan. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. This inspection report was completed off site and emailed to the facility the same day.
