Report of Findings
Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) received information that the care being provided at this address may require a Community Care Facility Licence.

Licensing Officers inspected the premise on January 6, 2021, and observed 3 children in care unrelated to the operator.

Licensing determined Kianna MacLean was operating an unlicensed facility in contravention of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA).

The following contravention was cited:
-Community Care Assisted Living Act section 5(a) Operating or advertising without a licence

The operator is required to immediately reduce the number of children in care to no more than two children unrelated to her or a sibling group. The Licensing Officer will conduct a follow up inspection to confirm ongoing compliance.

- Operator to submit written confirmation to Licensing Office that they have reduced the number of children or persons receiving care to 1 or 2 who are not related by blood or marriage to the person.
- Operator to submit written confirmation that they understand the requirements of the CCALA regarding the number of persons they may provide care to without a licence

- Notify families of children or persons receiving care of contravention.
- Conduct follow up inspection to confirm ongoing compliance
- Contacted ECE Registry to advise of operating unlawfully. Kianna indicated that she had her ECE Licence or was in the middle of obtaining her hours.
