Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on March 30th, 2022, alleging concerns regarding Care and supervision, and staffing. The following concerns were raised related to a fall, resulting in injury to a person in care:
-implementation of care plans
-implementation of policies and procedures
-competence of staff to carry out duties assigned

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was collected through on-site inspection, reportable incident form, and review of documentation. Licensing determined the following contraventions:
-Residential Care Regulation (RCR) s 40(3)
-RCR s. 82
-RCR s. 85(1)(d)

Observation: Licensing determined employees did not demonstrate the necessary competence to carry out the required duties.

Observation: Staff did not follow the facility's lift and transfer policy.
Corrective action: Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented by employees.

Observation: Licensing determined a PIC's care plan was not implemented or followed.
