Report of Findings
On October 27, 2020, Licensing received a complaint alleging concerns related to care and supervision, medication, and policies and procedures. The allegations included the following details:

Care and Supervision:
- Systemic issues related to the care of a person in care and meeting their care needs.

Medications:
- Medications were discontinued and a medication was incorrectly changed resulting in medication errors.

Policies and Procedures:
- Prior to admission information was provided by calling the facility and reading online.
- A phone for a person in care was not set-up.
- The facility was dealing with a Covid-19 outbreak and there was miscommunication as to how long restrictions would be in-place.
- A person in care was to be moved internally in the facility, however this move never occurred.

All areas of the complaint were thoroughly investigated. Evidence was received and reviewed from interviews, person in care records, and correspondence with the facility.

The following contraventions were determined:
- Residential Care Regulation - Section 68(4) Medication Safety and Advisory Committee
- Residential Care Regulation - Section 81 (4)(b)(i) Care plan needed if more than 30 day stay

Observation: It was determined that a medication was not adminstered to a person in care.
Corrective action: Corrective action required.
34750 - RCR s.81(4)(b)(i)A licensee must ensure that (b) each care plan is reviewed and, if necessary, modified (i) if there is a substantial change in the circumstances of the person in care.
Observation: It was determined the care plan for a person in care was not reviewed and modified accordingly.
