Observation: Water system is in non-compliance with Operating Permit conditions related to Drinking Water Treatment Objectives (microbiological) for Surface Water Supplies in BC. A Contravention Order has been issued under the Drinking Water Protection Act and compliance dates are set at Feb. 28, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2020
314   Improper maintenance of distribution system
Observation: Protective housing over cross-connection device at backfill plant needs to be maintained. (Repeat issue on inspection).
317   Inadequate or improper construction of water works
Observation: Primary intake at Tennant Creek needs to be upgraded with bypass so that access to the source water is maintained when power generator is off-line. This should be addressed in current upgrade planning as previously discussed.
322   Emergency Response Plan
Observation: Emergency Response Plan requires update and copy provided to our office by Feb. 28, 2020, including update on who the water system operators are with BCWWA - small water system operator certification and contact information

Routine Inspection: Note: If registered ownership name changes, reapplication is required. Note: All upgrades, alterations, and extensions to the water system require application and construction permit from the Public Health engineer before construction. Note: Notified protective housing over valves at secondary potable water storage tank installed. Note: Notified distribution line upgrades were completed for future separation of potable and non-potable/fire protection uses in facilities. Will be implemented when facility upgrades meet BC Surface Water Treatment Objectives. Included with inspection report is reminder of May 17, 2017 direction from Drinking Water officer (DWO) delegate on requirements related to separated potable water system. Note: Ensure continued compliance with other Operating Permit conditions including, maintaining approved sampling program and annual reporting to water users and DWO.
