Report of Findings
A complaint was received to Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) on January 31, 2022 alleging concerns regarding:
- staff not answering call bells
- PICs not adequately supervised
- inadequate lighting and temperature
- food substitions were not made from same food group
- policies and procedures were not followed

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence from the Licensee was received and reviewed.
The following contraventions were determined:

Observed Violations/Contraventions: A summary of the violations found during the complaint investigation are listed below.

30240 - RCR s.61A licensee must regularly monitor the physical environment of the community care facility, and the care and services provided by it, to ensure that the requirements of the Act and this regulation are being met.
Observation: There was lack of evidence of monitoring of care and services provided by the care facility.

31060 - RCR s.16(1)A licensee must ensure that the temperature in each bedroom, bathroom and common room is safe and comfortable for a person who is carrying out the types of activities that would be reasonably expected in the ordinary use of the room.
Observation: The temperature of a person in care's room exceeded 27 degrees, and the person in care expressed that the room was too warm.

37090 - RCR s.62(2)(d)A licensee must ensure that each menu provides (d) for substitutions to be made that are from the same food group and have a similar nutritional value.
Observation: Food substitutions were not being made from the same food group.

Observation: The facility did not have records of a complaint being received, despite confirming that the complaint was received.
